Coding Holiday Camps
Minecraft Game Design Camp (5-Day)
Students will learn to design their own world in Minecraft and be challenged to experience the thinking process as a game creator. They will learn to exercise their creativity through pixel art, blueprint design and game design architecture in Minecraft's creative mode.
Camp Objectives
1. Learn about pixel art
- Gain understanding of the mechanism behind digital pixel art
- Create digital characters and structures at pixel level
2. Learn about blueprint design
- Understand the importance of blueprint printing in architecture
- Build their very own blueprint design for the architecture that they will build in Minecraft
3. Learn about game architecture
- Build their own world and structures in Minecraft platform
- Learn different command functions in Minecraft

Roblox Game Design Camp (5-Day)
Students will learn about game creation through the construction of their own obstacles (Obby) and terrains within Roblox platform. Through that, they will learn about the process of debugging, beta testing and feedback. Students will also sharpen their presentation skills as they present their creations and let their friends try out their creations.
Camp Objectives
1. Learn about game design
- Work around inter-working elements, learn how systems work and how they can be modified or changed
- Exercise their creativity and critical thinking skills to build working system in Roblox
2. Learn about scripting and story-telling
- Craft their scripts and stories around the obstacles created to make the games come alive
- Present the stories to their classmates to convince them to try their creations
3. Learn about debugging, beta testing and feedback loop
- Understand the importance of debugging and beta testing in game creation
- Create feedback loop to see what works and what does not work in the game system

Virtual Reality Camp (5-Day)
Through this workshop, the adventurous and courageous will discover Virtual Reality (VR) and utilise its unique features to create custom 3D environments and dive into amazing immersive experiences. Students will acquire hands-on experience with VR development through CoSpaces Edu platform, where students can create virtually anything in the classroom! This programme will improve students' digital literacy skills, enhances creativity and fosters collaboration in the classroom.
Camp Objectives
1. Understand how Virtual Reality works
- Learn about key features and applications of VR
- Compare the similarities and differences between Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality
- Experience VR with various themes such as underwater, desert, space, prehistoric and cities
2. Build their own Virtual Reality world
- Brainstorm on a topic/theme of world to create, e.g. Jurassic Park Exhibition
- Create contents/objects to be included in the virtual world
- Work with 3D models to design the landscape
3. Create interactions between models in the Virtual Reality world
- Improve the interactivity between models with simple, drag-and-drop within CoBlocks, e.g. to make models move, speak and do specific actions
- Include additional features such as sound effects to create an immersive experience
